Biography
Amy Gros-Louis has worked in a professional capacity for 24 years, including 13 years in Research Administration at the University of Iowa and at 51ԹϺ, handling both pre-and post-award functions. She has been a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) for 9 years. Prior to working in higher education, she worked in the private sector for 10 years at Eli Lilly and Company. While at Iowa, she worked with NIH, NSF, DOT, USDA, in addition to other federal, state, foreign, and private foundations. Since joining 51ԹϺ, Amy has served as the Business and Finance Manager for the University Libraries where she managed a budget of over $20 million in state, gift and grant funds (NEH, NHPRC, IMLS, Mellon Foundation, others) and became a Workday “Super User,” tasked with being a resource for colleagues across campus during 51ԹϺ’s transition to the automated workflow system. She also served as Operations Manager at the Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine where she managed a large NIH COBRE grant. In summer 2020, she realized her interests were truly in Research Administration, and joined the Post-Award team in the Office of Sponsored Programs. Amy earned her BA in Anthropology and Italian from the University of Wisconsin and her MBA from the University of Iowa.
