Biography

Dr. Rogers started with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51ԹϺ as a resident in the Las Vegas family medicine program. He was the chief resident in his final year of residency and stayed on as faculty when he graduated in 2003. He served as the family medicine residency program director from 2005-2014 and he was the original director of the rural residency program in 2014. After 11 years in academics, Dr. Rogers left teaching to pursue a career in private practice. He spent 3 years working for Healthcare Partners in Las Vegas before deciding that he missed teaching. He was excited to return to academics to be a part of the new 51ԹϺ medical school and to take over as the rural residency program director again. Dr. Rogers says "Working in private practice was rewarding, but I really missed working with students and residents. There is nothing more rewarding to me than watching residents learn and develop new skills and become competent, outstanding physicians in their brief 3 years of training."

Dr. Rogers enjoys running (he has run 2 half-marathons), racquetball, deep sea fishing, and watching his beloved Seattle Seahawks (Go Hawks!)
