Aundrea Frahm
Inaugural Director of Immersive Learning
Biography
Frahm is looking forward to establishing immersive learning on 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s campus. She understands the opportunity and potential extended realities have to strengthen and expand learning. She was the founding director of the VR/AR Classroom and Innovation Studio at Southern Utah University and was co-author of a nearly $1 million grant awarded by the Utah System of Higher Education to successfully establish the VR/AR initiatives campus-wide. She started the first VR/AR faculty cohort of close to thirty faculty members who implemented VR/AR into over 50 classes and impacted over 4,000 students in a two-year period. She established the XR Southern Summit and integrated a check-out system for headsets within the library. With a large team of students and faculty subject matter experts, she oversaw and produced the development of three educational applications.
Along with her expertise in extended realities, she brings nearly a decade of collegiate teaching experience, including her initial appointment at SUU as an Assistant Professor in Fine Arts and a sculpture instructor at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. These experiences will enable her to effectively collaborate with faculty in creating teaching modules and course assignments.
Frahm holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In her new role, she will oversee the daily operations of the Dreamscape Learn Center, with forward-thinking faculty implementing DSL content into classes across campus, and establish a culture of VR/AR innovation for students, faculty, and staff at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.
