Biography

Board-certified in general psychiatry, Caitlin Chen, DO, is an assistant professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. Dr. Chen completed her undergraduate studies in biology and psychology at Wellesley College. In 2019, she earned her medical degree from Touro University Nevada, which she followed up with a residency in general psychiatry at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. Afterwards, Dr. Chen completed her fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University.

Having presented research at the American College of Legal Medicine and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, Dr. Chen remains active in conducting research in topics related to psychiatry and the law. She looks forward to teaching and interacting with medical students.

Dr. Chen’s areas of interest include working with the severely mentally ill, working in medical education, and researching issues related to competency to stand trial.
