Biography
Christopher Maxwell, MSN, RN, is a lecturer and clinical instructor in the School of Nursing (SON) for the undergraduate and graduate programs. He joined SON in 2022 and is a graduate of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. He has a decade of nursing experience as a critical care nurse in the Intermediate Care (IMC) and the Intensive Care units (ICU). He is passionate as a nurse educator and a healthcare provider in the Las Vegas community.
Expertise
Maxwell’s nursing background for the last decade includes critical care in IMC and ICU. He managed critically ill patients, including their families, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Classes Taught
Maxwell teaches undergraduate and graduate programs as a clinical instructor. He’s taught several undergraduate BSN program courses, including Nursing Care of Adult – Medical Surgical Patient, Nursing Care of Older Adults, Managing Complex Nursing Care in Diverse Populations, and clinicals in the DEMSN graduate program.
Education Background
In 2021, Maxwell earned his Master of Science at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ with an emphasis in education. Previously, he earned his BSN from Grand Canyon University in 2019. Prior to that, he received his ASN from Everest College in 2015. In addition to education in nursing, he also holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ in 2004.
Research or Scholarship
His MSN final paper discussed concerns of student incivility and its effects in higher education. The aim of the research was for nursing students to understand the impact of student incivility in the learning environment and nursing profession. His research led to changes that included learning modules and participation in role-playing simulations to prevent student incivility.

In 2004, Maxwell graduated with the honor of Magna Cum Laude at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ in the School of Business.
