Biography
Dr. David F. Damore is Professor of Political Science and the Executive Director of The Lincy Institute and Brookings Mountain West. In addition to his positions at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Dr. Damore is a Brookings Institution Nonresident Senior Fellow in Governance Studies.
An expert in electoral politics and applied public policy, Dr. Damore has written extensively on Nevada politics and policy. He has published dozens of policy briefs, book chapters, and journal articles and is coauthor of Blue Metros, Red States: The Shifting Urban/Rural Divide in America’s Swing States, with Robert E. Lang and Karen A. Danielsen, and Latinos in Nevada: A Political, Economic and Social Profile with John P. Tuman, Tiffiany O. Howard, and Nerses Kopalyan.
Dr. Damore has conducted thousands of interviews with local, national, and international media outlets including New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, NPR, PBS, CNN, The Economist, Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, and USA Today. His analysis and commentary have been published by outlets such as The Brookings Institution’s FixGov Blog, The Cook Political Report, HuffPost, Politico Magazine, and Monkey Cage.
Dr. Damore earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis, his M.A. from the University of Georgia, and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego, all in Political Science.
