Biography

Fateh Peera, MD, joined the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ as a pediatrician in 2018. While being an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, he studied the importance of calories obtained from beverages as a contributing factor of obesity in children. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Arizona and was selected as chief resident in 2010. After working as a pediatrician for a federally qualified healthcare center in Tucson, AZ, for five years, he became an assistant professor of pediatrics at Texas Tech University in 2015, where he participated in community outreach through school-based healthcare programs and won attending of the month.

Prior to joining 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ as an assistant professor of pediatrics, Dr. Peera worked in Henderson, NV, in urgent care and for Healthcare Partners in Nevada.

A member of the American Academy of Pediatricians, Dr. Peera has presented lectures on different topics, including normal visual development and financial pitfalls for residents. He has held various positions at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, including pediatric medical student clerkship director and pediatric residency associate program director. He currently serves as the assistant director of problem-based learning at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and is the faculty advisor for the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA).
