Biography
Jason Blankenship is a clinically licensed professional counselor with 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Student Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). He holds graduate degrees in English literature and mental health counseling and is clinically licensed in Nevada and Kansas. Before joining CAPS, Jason served as an academic advisor with the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Academic Success Center and has over 14 years of experience working with students, including academic and scholarship advising, teaching, career coaching, and counseling. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, Jason practiced therapy in the Kansas City area at a behavioral hospital and in private practice. His main areas of focus include grief and loss, adjustment, trauma, self-awareness and acceptance, and identity. Jason works with clients to process emotions and thoughts, recognize patterns of cognition and behaviors, and build awareness and insight, leading to better relationship dynamics, self-acceptance, and adjustment.
