Chief Hydrologist
Biography
Mr. Dixon has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ where he was involved in hydrologic research at the Nevada Test Site and the Yucca Mountain Project. His professional career spans over 25 years as a water rights and hydrologic consultant throughout Nevada. As past President of the Nevada Water Resources Association Jay was actively involved in educating the public on topics such as well design, construction and water rights permitting. Mr. Dixon has worked at Kinross Gold for the last 10 years where he is currently the Chief Hydrologist with primary responsibility for water resource evaluations and compliance and oversight of hydrology-related projects supporting the Bald Mountain (White Pine County) and Round Mountain (Nye County) operations. Jay is also active in the Nevada Mining Association where he currently chairs the Water Working Group.
