Biography
Jeff Detrick is a US Army veteran who served 12 years as a medic. Currently, Jeff works as an Academic Coordinator at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’s TRiO Education Opportunity Center where he advises and assists adults pursuing a university/vocational/technical diploma/certification or their high school equivalency diploma. He is the program manager for veterans and incarcerated clients looking to pursue their education. He is a member the Adult Learner Advisory Committee and the Non-Traditional Student Scholarship Committee at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. Jeff is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Public Administration at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.
Jeff’s work in the community includes being a Commissioner on the State of Nevada’s Veteran Service Commission, a Member of the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery Advisory Committee and a founding member and first president of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Alumni Veterans Club. Jeff was also the president of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Rebel Vets (2013-2015) and the first Team Leader for the Peer Advisors for Veteran Education (PAVE) program at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ (2015-2016).
Jeff spends his free time with his wife Elizabeth, also an US Army veteran pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Health at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, and their dog, Odin.
