Biography

Dr. Joshua Goldman, who completed a fellowship in integrated reconstructive microsurgery and craniofacial surgery at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, is an assistant professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Plastic Surgery.

He also completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Kerkorian School of Medicine.

A graduate of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, Dr. Goldman was elected during medical school as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society for exemplary academic performance and as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society for dedication to humanistic care.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with honors from Stanford University, where he was also an NCAA All American Scholar-Athlete in gymnastics.

Dr. Goldman’s medical interests include healthcare ethics, medical education, regenerative medicine, the intersections of reconstruction and aesthetic surgery, and the care of adult and pediatric patients requiring complex reconstruction of all types -- oncologic, trauma, and congenital.

His peer-reviewed research has appeared in multiple publications, including the AMA Journal of Ethics and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery -- Global Open, the official open access journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Goldman continues to be highly involved in organized medicine, having served on the joint AMA/American College of Surgeons (ACS) Surgical Caucus Executive Committee. In 2019 he was named the ACS International Scholar, acting as ambassador to the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland.
