Biography
Kathy Barbeau first discovered grant administration 17 years ago while working as a financial assistant for the Dean of the School of Medicine’s Finance Office, at Saint Louis University, in Saint Louis Missouri. Through the years her knowledge increased along with the various positions she held, starting as an accounting assistant and progressing to the Department Administrator for the Dept of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology in a basic science department. Her experience is primarily on the post administrative side, administering various grants, contracts, and agreements. The funding agencies varied from Federal R01’s, NASA, FBI, corporations and foundations. In 2013 she was awarded the Saint Louis University’s Grant Administrator of the year.
Kathy is a native of Michigan, earning a BA from Michigan State University. Her work experience began in the Hospitality Industry as a Food and Beverage Manager. She is excited to join the Office of Sponsored Programs and her favorite color is Red, so she will easily transition from green of a Michigan State Spartan to the red of a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Rebel. But don’t ask her to give up her baseball team as she is a dedicated STL Cardinal fan.
