Kristi Schmid
Instructional Designer
Biography
Kristi Schmid joined the Office of Online Education team in 2017. Her previous experiences as both an online instructor and an online student continue to benefit and shape her contributions to online learning design.
Kristi contributes to the university culture in a creative and innovative way. Her primary interests include technology innovation in STEM courses, accessible design of learning, and the application of educational theories. Among her favorites of these are Gagné’s 9 Events of Instruction, Vygotsky’s Social Constructivism theory, and Garrison’s Community of Inquiry framework.
Kristi strives daily to empower professors and support students as she collaborates with team members in the design of quality and engaging online courses at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. Kristi holds the following degrees: Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ (2021), M.S.Ed. in Instructional Design, Purdue University (2014), M.Ed. in Math Education, Ohio State University (1998), and B.S. in Mathematics, MacMurray College (1995)
