Her special interest wherever she has worked has been in creating opportunities for growth through professional development offerings.
Leeann has been with 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ since 2015 and initially served as part of the leadership team in the Office of Online Education. From here, Leeann moved into heading up a relatively new area of compliance in higher education, State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA - being shaped in a large part by online education and how institutions of higher education serve the needs of students who reside outside of their states). Leeann’s rich experience and leadership in online education is an asset in this role. Leeann is excited about this new office and leading it in a way to ensure student experiences are in accordance with the consumer protection laws of other states and/or foreign countries. Leeann is working to develop resources that will aid the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ community in understanding SARA in the higher education landscape and looks forward to engaging colleagues. From the start of her tenure at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Leeann has been an active member of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ community by serving on numerous committees, including OIT’s Faculty Technology Advisory Board (FTAB) & Learning Management System Coordinating Committee (LMSCC), 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities Year Seven Self-Evaluation Report committee, Instructional Development and Research Working Group (IDR), the Women’s Council and several search committees.
Her outside interests include most anything first and foremost that involves the ocean/beach, then waterfalls, and just being outdoors. That ties into her love of traveling and collecting magnets wherever she goes. There’s always a special place for Snoopy, dolphins, rollercoasters, fireworks, and rainbows!
