Biography
Leora Frimer, MD, is an assistant professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Internal Medicine. Originally from Canada, Frimer received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from McGill University. Additionally, she received her medical degree from St. George’s University and her master’s degree of public health from McGill University. After completing her residency in internal medicine at the University of Central Florida/HCA Florida Healthcare GME Consortium, Frimer finished a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine.
Frimer has authored articles in medical journals and has an interest in research with tangible opportunities for change, such as quality improvement initiatives. Along with this, she also has a particular interest in the care of medically complex adults and creates individualized treatment plans by getting to know her patients through narrative medicine.
As a physician, Frimer draws on inspiration from her late father, Dr. Michael Frimer, the youngest surgeon in Canada when he started, whose practice for over 50 years exemplified innovative approaches to surgery and the art of medicine.
