Biography
Linh Nguyen, Ph.D., MPH, joined 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ School of Dental Medicine in 2017 and teaches microbiology and immunology within the Biomedical Sciences program.
Prior to working at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Nguyen was an infectious disease epidemiologist for the Southern Nevada Health District in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her work there focused on infectious disease outbreak investigation and prevention, microbial studies that are important to public health, and laboratory surveillance for emerging pathogens. She also taught microbiology, public health, and laboratory sciences to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ undergraduates.
Nguyen earned her MPH in Community Health Education from University of Minnesota, and Ph.D. in Microbiology from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. Her research and teaching projects aim to promote the association between oral health and the health of the community.
