Biography
Lisa Menegatos serves as dean of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Honors College, a selective college within the university that offers enhanced academic experiences to high-achieving undergraduate students.
Menegatos first joined the Honors College as an assistant professor in residence in 2014. She became assistant dean in January 2018 and then associate dean in July of that year. In these leadership roles, she spearheaded numerous initiatives, including expanding the Research and Creative Honor thesis program, establishing a student internship program, driving faculty development efforts, and overseeing the diverse array of HON course offerings.
Prior to joining the faculty at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Menegatos was an assistant professor at Purdue University, Fort Wayne. She holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University, specializing in health communication and interpersonal communication, a master's degree in communication studies from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, and a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University. Throughout her academic career, Menegatos has dedicated her research efforts to exploring the profound interplay between substance abuse and personal relationships.
