Biography
Lois Paretti is the coordinator of clinical field experiences for the department of teaching and learning at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. She received her M.A. in developmental psychology and Ed.M. from Teachers College, Columbia University, after earning her B.A. in psychology at the University of Florida. Her responsibilities encompass directing all aspects and functions of the field and clinical experiences leading to elementary and secondary teacher licensure, including preservice teacher preparation programs for undergraduates and graduate alternative routes to licensure teacher candidates in the college programs. In addition, she is the leader of the learning community that provides professional development in partnership schools, fostering the relationship between the 21st Century Schools and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. Before joining 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, she was an elementary school principal in New York. Before becoming the clinical field experience coordinator, she taught teacher education and pedagogy courses. Passionate about supporting new teachers, she believes collaboration among schools and colleges is crucial to preparing and maintaining experienced and effective teachers. Her interests include teacher preparation, retention, and meaningful and engaging professional development.
