Biography
Madeline (Maddie) Clark joined the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ faculty in fall 2023 after seven years as an assistant/associate professor at the University of Toledo. She graduated with her Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision from Old Dominion University in 2016, along with cognates in qualitative research and educational research methodology. She earned her M.S.Ed. in clinical mental health counseling from Old Dominion University in 2013.
Her research interests include poverty and social class issues in counseling, specifically best practices and improvement of client outcomes. She has held multiple local, regional, and national leadership roles to include serving as the president of the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling (AARC; 2022-23). She has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and multiple scholarly presentations. She is the winner of multiple awards, to include the American Counseling Association (ACA) Best Practice in Research award. She has been a PI or Co-PI on $1.7 million of funding within interdisciplinary grant teams.
