Malia Ishibashi
Lead Peer Mentor, Elementary Education
Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Malia Ishibashi. I am currently starting my second year at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ while majoring in elementary education. Being a teacher has always been a dream of mine and to be so close to achieving it, with the help of an amazing university, is so exciting. 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ has so much more to offer than just an outstanding education. The events held by the school are so much fun, like the food truck events and the free tickets that you receive to our legendary football team at Allegiant Stadium. Outside of school, I love trying new places, and Las Vegas has some true gems. Just to name a few of my usual spots are Honolulu Boba Co, Sorry, Not Sorry Creamery, and the Fashion Show Mall. When not hitting the books, I also love to binge-watch some good shows, listen to music, and sip on my Starbucks or Dutch Bros while shopping online. Something that I learned to be very important during my first year at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ is learning how to balance your school priorities and giving yourself a break. Taking breaks can help you finish more tasks without burning yourself out. I am so excited to welcome new students to the College of Education and help them throughout their first year.
