Biography

Michael has led multiple teams across several fast-paced business environments for nearly two decades. In his role as Executive Director of Marketing at Wynn and Encore Las Vegas, Bertetto led all non-casino marketing initiatives for the resort. This included coordinating multiple teams to develop cohesive strategies and execute integrated campaigns for Wynn’s various amenities and stakeholders.

Prior to rejoining Wynn Las Vegas, where he was Brand Marketing and PR Manager from 2010-2012, Michael was the Director of Marketing and Communications for the 51ԹϺ William S. Boyd School of Law. In this position, he worked with college leadership to create regional communication strategies and highly targeted advertising plans. Preceding his time at 51ԹϺ, Bertetto worked at SLS Las Vegas on the resort’s pre-opening team where he was responsible for the ground up development of communication strategies and a multi-channel opening platform. Before being recruited to SLS, Michael was Director of Resort Marketing and Advertising at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino; International Marketing Manager at Bally Technologies, now Light & Wonder; and began his career at R&R Partners. During his six-year tenure on the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority account at R&R, he collaborated with the integrated team on the “What Happens Here, Stays Here” campaign and launched aggressive PR campaigns in Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

Michael earned his bachelor of science in marketing and master of science in hotel administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is currently a part-time Ph.D. student at 51ԹϺ’s William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, and also lectures part-time as a marketing instructor. His professional recognitions include PR Practitioner of Year by the Public Relations Society of America, being honored as a Top 25 Extraordinary Mind in Sales and Marketing by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, a Gold Adrian Award also from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, and a Bronze Quill for Total Integrated Communication or Marketing Plan by the International Association of Business Communicators.
