Biography
Michelle Fontenelle-Gilmer, MD, is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.
For almost 25 years, Dr. Fontenelle-Gilmer has practiced in a variety of both outpatient and inpatient settings. Her interest in a holistic approach is reflected in her previous experience. She has previously served as an assistant director of residency training for a family medicine program in Michigan, where she taught residents and provided hospital-based psychiatric consultation services to primary care doctors. Prior to that, she served as a child and adolescent psychiatrist for Monroe County Mental Health and provided consulting services through MCMHA Integrated Health Initiative with the Family Medical Center. This initiative was the type of program she had helped to promote nationally in her position as staff fellow in policy for the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC), United States Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA).
