Biography

Senior Lecturer Michelle Samuel joined the Kinesiology & Nutrition Sciences department during the fall of 2011. She serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Education for the accredited Athletic Training Program. Samuel teaches lower extremity assessment, therapeutic exercise, and clinical experiences in athletic training within the department's undergraduate programs.   

Samuel earned her bachelor's degree in Sports Injury Management, her master's degree in Kinesiology (Sports Medicine) and her doctoral degree in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences (Rehabilitation Sciences), all from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

She received the 2014 Distinguished Teaching Award from the School of Allied Health Sciences, the 2015 Special Service Award from the Nevada Athletic Trainers' Association (NevATA), the 2019 Special Recognition Award from the Far West Athletic Trainers' Association (FWATA) for her service to the profession and the 2022 Alumna of the Year Award from the School of Integrated Health Sciences. She is the lead advisor for the Far West Student Leadership Committee and is a Peer Reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
