Biography

Miriam Een, an assistant professor with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Family and Community Medicine, specializes in medical nutrition therapy – evaluating the nutritional status of patients and providing nutrition counseling in food selection, meal plans, and lifestyle.

She is a participant in the federally funded Nevada Family Medicine: Maternity Care Advancement Project.

A member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Een has served twice as president of the Nevada Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the Nevada Dietetic Association) and was recognized as Nevada’s Young Dietitian of the Year in 1995.

She graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in medical dietetics and completed her master’s degree in nutrition science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Een completed the Certificate of Training in Obesity Interventions for Adults as well as Children and Adolescents through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She also completed a training fellowship with the Nevada Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (NvLEND).
