Biography
Mitchell Forman, DO, is the director of the rheumatology fellowship program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51ԹϺ.
A rheumatologist for more than 40 years, including four years of directing a rheumatology clinical practice until 2022 at 51ԹϺ Health, Dr. Forman helped found the Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, where he served as dean for 12 years. During his time at Touro, he also served terms as president of the Nevada State Medical Association and the Clark County Medical Society.
Dr. Forman’s work as both a clinician and founding dean did not go unnoticed by the American College of Physicians (ACP). In November 2013, the organization voted to elect him to Mastership in the ACP, the first practicing physician in the state of Nevada to receive the honor.
He later was chosen to become a member of the renowned Royal College of Physicians-London, the British medical organization dedicated to an “unfailing commitment to quality and excellence in the delivery of healthcare.”
Dr. Forman received his medical degree from the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residencies in internal medicine from Green Cross General Hospital in Ohio and the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital in New York. He completed his fellowship in rheumatology through the State University of New York.
