Executive Director of Division & Administration Shared Services
Biography
Rebecca started working for 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ as a student employee in 2001. After earning her degree in 2007, she worked as a temporary employee until obtaining a full-time role in 2008. In her time at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Rebecca has worked 9 positions across 6 departments. Currently, Rebecca operates as the Deputy AVP of Administration and the Executive Director for Administration & Division Shared Services.
Administration Shared Services includes the oversight and enhancement of internal services for technology support, project management, recharge billing, human resources, and financial management in an effort to reduce department duplication of services, streamline business process and reporting, ensure process compliance, and enhance (improve) processes where appropriate.
Business Affairs [Division] Shared Services is a new division initiative that is currently being defined.
Philosophy
Rebecca is a firm believer that if you see a problem, you cannot walk away from it. As a member of a thriving University community, Rebecca works hard to develop collaborative partnerships and coordinate problem resolution. She relies on her data driven decision making and technical skill sets, as well as her tenacity, to continuously push for incremental improvement to our working environment.
Rebecca pushes her team and colleagues to establish boundaries to maintain a healthy work/life balance and reduce the potential to be overwhelmed by our shared workload. While we are all here to push the mission and vision of our University, Division, and Department, we should also focus on career growth, personal achievement, and satisfaction.
Background
Rebecca's family moved to Las Vegas, NV when she was a young child. She graduated from the Advanced Technologies Academy (high school) with a certificate in Computer Science and immediately pursued a degree in Computer Science from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ with the financial support provided by the Millennium Scholarship.
Rebecca worked as a software developer for 8 years before working into a technical leadership role in Business Affairs Administration. She's developed her leadership skills and strategies, gaining progressive advancement from technical leadership, to department leadership, and now into a deputy and division leadership role.
