Biography

Dr. Tanya Al-Talib joined 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ School of Dental Medicine during the fall of 2015. Her primary teaching responsibilities include introducing orthodontics to orthodontic and pediatric dentistry residents, and predoctoral students. She also provides clinical orthodontic instruction to predoctoral students and orthodontic residents.

He research focus is sleep disordered breathing among children and adults, and she has several projects dedicated to identifying the risk factors or signs of sleep disordered breathing. Dr. Al-Talib also has an ongoing project studying 3-D analyses of the airway, and aims to raise awareness about sleep disordered breathing problems.

Dr. Al-Talib earned her doctorate of dental surgery during 2001 from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, and her master’s and certificate in orthodontics from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry during 2015.

Dr. Al-Talib earned the Diplomate designation from the American Board of Orthodontics in 2017 and from the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in 2020.

In addition to her teaching role, Dr. Al-Talib treats orthodontic, snoring, and sleep apnea patients in faculty practice.
