Biography
Wade Gaal, MD, CAQSM, Associate Professor Family and Community Medicine received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine after receiving his BS in Biochemistry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He completed his specialty training at the University of Nevada School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency program followed by fellowship at the University of Nevada School of Medicine Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.
He is board certified in Family Medicine with certification of additional qualifications in Sports Medicine. Dr. Gaal joined the Department of Family and Community Medicine as faculty in 2011, practicing full scope Family Medicine clinically in the outpatient and inpatient settings. He has been recognized with several awards for his clinical teaching.
Dr. Gaal’s focus on musculoskeletal and sports medicine has resulted in multiple presentations and publications. His interests center on musculoskeletal ultrasound and the use of regenerative medicine to aid in acute injury management. He holds positions as the Interim Head Team Physician, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Division 1 Athletics and Program Director of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Family and Community Medicine Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is the Primary Care Sports Medicine Team Physician for the Las Vegas Aces Women’s National Basketball League, and a consulting physician for the Las Vegas Golden Knights National Hockey League.
