About

UPD has a full-service police department with police officers. UPD officers have the same training, qualifications, and responsibilities as every other police agency's officers with a focus on community engagement and campus outreach. We are available and patrolling 24/7/365 across the CSN, NSC, DRI, and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campuses and properties.

There are many ways to reach us!

  • Download the safety app for your campus (RebelSAFE, , )
  • Save our phone numbers:
  • You can also use our emergency phones located throughout all of our campuses!
  • Don’t forget about social media – follow us @UPDSouth on , , and .

Our dispatch center and patrol units are available 24/7/365. You can call at any time when you need us. Our administrative offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

From a cell phone, you will be calling the local agency, like (LVMPD), (HPD), or (NLVPD). Once their dispatch center understands you’re calling from the University, they will transfer you to the UPD dispatch center. In an on-campus emergency, call 702-895-3669, use the safety app, or any emergency phone to reach us.

Our main headquarters is located at , across the street from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s main campus, in the University Gateway garage, first floor.

Our jurisdiction, formally, is the Southern Nevada higher education institutions. We patrol the campus, including the residence halls. We can respond to assist for anything off campus, though technically it will fall in the other agency’s jurisdiction. We have inter-local agreements with the agencies around the valley to work together.

Because of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations, we may not be able to give you as much information as you’d like, but, if we make contact with them, we will advise them to call you!

Call us! We can tell you if you qualify for a protection order, a no-contact order, and/or help refer the situation to student conduct.

Also know that there are resources across our campuses, including CAPS, Student Conduct, and the Title IX offices that are available to assist.
