The shipment of hazardous materials is regulated by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) as specified in 49CFR. Hazardous materials may be chemical, biological, or radioactive in nature. Employees who offer hazardous materials of any type must be properly trained to do so. Training is offered at no charge to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ faculty and staff if it is applicable to the individual job responsibility.

The information listed on this page should only be used by employees who have attended and successfully completed the appropriate training courses. The information contained in the manual below describes shipping and transportation of hazardous materials and dangerous goods as required by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Infectious Substances
Transportation of Infectious Substances by vehicle only require the additional information forms and labels below, as outlined in the Infectious Substance Class 6.2 manual, in addition to information contained in the manual. For a copy of this manual, please contact Risk Management & Safety.
Radioactive Materials
The transportation and shipping of radioactive materials is managed by the Risk Management & Safety Radiological Safety Office. Please contact the Radiological Safety Officer at 702-895-4419 to coordinate shipment of this type of material.
