Wellness Promotion Trainings
Our Wellness Educators are currently offering a variety of trainings.
Certified Peer Educator (CPE) is a program designed to prepare students for peer education roles on college campuses. This training is offered as an effort to promote student health, wellness, and safety by empowering students to support their fellow peers.
Question. Persuade. Refer. (QPR) is a suicide prevention training that teaches individuals how to recognize the warnings signs of suicide and use 3 steps to help someone who is at risk.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a certification that provides individuals with the skills to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance-use challenges. Participants learn how to listen non-judgmentally, assess risk of harm, provide reassurance and support, and connect the individual to appropriate professional help and resources.

Wellness Promotion Workshops & Presentations
Our Wellness Educators and Certified Peer Educators can provide academic classes, registered student organizations, or other student groups effective and interactive workshops on a variety of health and wellness material. All of our workshops are evidence-based and designed to provide students with practical skills that empower them to make informed choices about their personal health behaviors.
We ask all participants to complete a post-workshop survey to help our staff assess learning outcomes and continually improve.
Workshop Topics
This workshop/presentation covers the basics of personal finance and financial wellness. Students will learn budgeting skills, managing checking and savings accounts, what a credit score is and how it can impact their financial future, and resources for students in financial hardship.
This workshop/presentation provides an overview of existing barriers and challenges faced by international students and discusses how to navigate through them through a range of available health and wellness services and programs.
This workshop/presentation reviews the relationship between food, nutrition, physical wellness and human health and provides an introduction to nutrients, nutrient food sources, nutrient functions, deficiency states and the role of nutrition in human health and development.
This educational workshop/presentation, rooted in harm reduction, empowers students the tools to make safer choices regarding substance use. Students will be informed of the risks associated with substance abuse, related substance use disorders and treatments, and also learn about 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ policy surrounding substance use on campus.
In this workshop/presentation, students will receive an overview of healthy relationships, sexual health, safe sex practices, sexually transmitted infection prevention, and communication with sexual partners. Content in this workshop is designed for a college-age population and is inclusive and affirming of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Students will have the opportunity to take part in interactive discussion and skill-based activities while learning about the intersections of sexual identity and healthy sex.
Students need their "ZZZ's" to get their degrees! This workshop/presentation covers the basics of sleep hygiene and the practices that students should engage in to achieve quality nighttime sleep for optimal daytime alertness. Students will also have an opportunity to develop their own personal sleep success plan.
In this engaging workshop/presentation students will learn about the main influencers of body image and self-esteem and how they directly impact a person's feelings, thoughts, and actions. Additionally, students will also review an overview of what is self-care and the importance of taking care of your mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

In this workshop/presentation, students will learn about how social connections can improve their mental health and well-being, and about resources that support social connectivity on campus. Students will also learn about student organizations on campus and ways to connect with others.
This workshop/presentation will inform students about what services are provided in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. It will also provide an overview of all services students can access in the SRWC, from recreational activities to the Student Health Clinic; ideal for freshman and first-year students.
