The President and Provost’s offices, Business Affairs, and Human Resources are pleased to offer reimbursements to employees who have paid for counseling or other mental health services as a result of the December 6 tragedy. The program seeks to alleviate financial strain and ensure that members of our community continue to have access to the necessary support for healing and recovery.

The program will cover payments made from Dec. 7, 2023 – Jan. 1, 2025, or until funds are exhausted.

Eligibility

Employees who meet the following requirements are eligible for reimbursement:

  • Current 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ employees who were active employees on December 6, 2023
  • Are one of these employee types:
    • Administrative and academic faculty
    • Classified staff
    • Letter of appointment
    • Postdoctoral scholars
    • Temporary hourly workers
    • Medical and dental residents
  • Must be active employees at the time of payment

Reimbursable payments for mental health services include but are not limited to:

  • Deductibles
  • Co-pays
  • Co-insurance
  • Direct payments

Services previously reimbursed by other available programs are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.

Requesting Reimbursement

To receive reimbursement, faculty and staff must complete the in its entirety and attach the required documentation. Required documentation includes:

  • Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or invoice indicating amount of payment and services rendered by a licensed mental health provider
  • Proof of payment for mental health services

Employees can submit multiple requests for reimbursement until the per employee maximum allowable amount of $1,500 is met.

  • Reimbursements will be issued via check and mailed to those whose reimbursements are approved.

Funds will be distributed on the 30th of each month. Applications submitted prior to the 17th of each month will receive disbursement by the 30th of the month requested. Applications completed the 17th and after, will receive disbursement the following month.
