Patrick W. Naughton Jr.

Patrick W. Naughton, Jr., '04 BA History and '13 Emergency and Crisis Management, recently published a book for those who have served and for those who seek to understand war and its generational impact. April 2025 will be the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon. Born from War: A Soldier’s Quest to Understand Vietnam, Iraq, and the Generational Impact of Conflict provides a fresh perspective on Vietnam for a new generation who just went through 20 years of their own wars, which their children, too, will one day struggle to understand. In addition to being an author, he is also a husband, father, U.S. Army officer, and historian.

Timothy Rainey

Timothy Rainey, '04 Communication Studies, was  named one of the top contemporary hit radio program directors in the country for 2024. Rainey works for iHeartMedia, based in Portland, and programs radio stations like Z100 Portland, JAMN 107.5 Portland, and V101.1 Sacramento. While attending 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, he was an on-air personality at 98.5 KLUC.  

Paul Gutierrez

Paul Gutierrez, '94 BA Communication Studies, worked as a reporter for Sports Illustrated from 1995 to 1998. Following that, he joined the Las Vegas Review-Journal as a sportswriter from 1998 to 1999. He then moved to the Los Angeles Times, where he worked as a sportswriter from 1999 to 2005. From 2005 to 2010, he was a senior writer at the Sacramento Bee. Afterward, he became the Raiders and A’s Insider for CSN Bay Area from 2010 to 2013. Since 2013, he's been a reporter covering the Raiders and 49ers for ESPN. Gutierrez is the author of several books, including Tales From The Dodgers Dugout (2005), 100 Things Raiders Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die (2014), and If These Walls Could Talk: Stories from the Raiders Sideline, Locker Room and Press Box (2021), co-authored with Lincoln Kennedy. He has also served as a voter for the Baseball Hall of Fame from 2009 to 2022 and is currently a selector for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, starting in 2023.

LaTosha Strickland

LaTosha (McGill) Strickland, '04 BA Communication Studies, is a mindset transformational life coach, motivational speaker, and mentor. She helps individuals identify and change limiting beliefs and thought patterns, ultimately cultivating a more positive and productive mindset to achieve their goals by working through personal challenges and developing new strategies to overcome obstacles in their life. Through her work, Strickland coaches individuals and groups and also does speaking engagements.

Myrra Smith

  Myrra Smith, ‘20 MBA and J.D., recently joined the Las Vegas office of Ogletree Deakins as counsel. Her practice focuses on labor and employment law. Smith has counseled numerous employers on claims involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family & Medical Leave Act, the Uniformed Services Employment & Reemployment Rights Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Her experience also extends to negotiating and litigating class and collective action matters.   

Jaime Spotleson Brousse

Jaime Spotleson, '03 Journalism, recently joined the development team at the ACLU of Nevada. She previously worked in media and public relations in Chicago, Nashville, and Las Vegas. Her personal advocacy and volunteer efforts have focused on gun violence prevention, reproductive justice, local libraries, and public education. She is married with two children, and they enjoy rooting for the Rebels.
