From teacher shortages to lack of resources, the Clark County School District’s struggles are nothing new. 

The effort to fill teaching positions in our Clark County public schools continues.

Twenty years ago, Lushawn Threats started an elementary education program at the College of Southern Nevada — the first step in the Cheyenne High School graduate’s lifelong dream of becoming a teacher.

In an effort to combat the current teacher shortage in the valley, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ has created a program to get more teachers into schools throughout Clark County.

Staffing issues continue to plague the Clark County School District but there is a program at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ that is attempting to help fill the gap.

More than 30 support staff at the Clark County School District are on their way to becoming licensed teachers by the start of next school year.
