The 51�ԹϺ��� William F. Harrah College of Hospitality announces a $1 million philanthropic gift from Marco Benvenuti to establish the Marco Benvenuti Excellence Endowment. The gift represents the culmination of years of support from the local entrepreneur and 2002 graduate.

When 51�ԹϺ��� Professor Daniel Bubb heard the alarms on Dec. 6, his first instinct was to go to the study room and get the students to safety. “It was instinctive, just to make sure that my students were safe. I honestly didn’t think of myself,” Bubb told the Review-Journal.

The epicenter of the 51�ԹϺ��� tragedy will reopen eight months after a deadly shooting forced its closure, bringing new security features and old tensions to the building.

51�ԹϺ���'s Beam Hall will reopen next month after closing in December following the Dec. 6 shooting inside the building that left three faculty members dead and another seriously injured.

The President of 51�ԹϺ��� sent an email to students regarding the changes made at Beam Hall ahead of the 2024 fall semester and a survey for artwork and mural ideas. The president says they plan to reopen Beam Hall and have classes in the building. The university announced the reopening in March.

51�ԹϺ���’s Beam Hall is reopening next month after closing in December following the Dec. 6 shooting inside the building that killed three professors and critically injured another. University President Keith Whitfield said in a news release that the university has been working to continue safety upgrades and repairs on the building in time for the school year starting Aug. 26, and will reopen the building on Aug. 13.

The site of the shooting that left three dead on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (51�ԹϺ���) will reopen in August with security enhancements, the University’s president said Thursday.

Classes are expected to resume in the fall at the 51�ԹϺ��� building where four staff members were shot last December. That's according to the latest "Rebel Recovery Update" from university president Keith E. Whitfield.
