Celebrate National Student Employment Week Through Friday!

National Student Employment Week is happening now through Friday, April 18. Join us in recognizing the invaluable contributions that student employees make at colleges and universities across the country. At 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, we're proud to have approximately 2,500 dedicated student employees working on our campus each year. These student employees enhance campus life and operations with their energy, talents, and diverse skills. Units that employ large numbers of current students include the University Libraries, Office of Information Technology (OIT), Student and Academic Success, Admissions, the Student Wellness and Recreation Center, and many more!

Student employment provides opportunities to earn income, build networks, and gain valuable skills and experiences that will benefit them in their future careers. These roles often offer flexible schedules that accommodate class schedules, allowing students to work while still focusing on their academic responsibilities. We encourage departments and units with student employees to celebrate them during National Student Employment Week.

Here are some ways you can celebrate your student workers:

  • Send a note through Rebel Applause – 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s employee recognition platform
  • Write a handwritten thank-you card
  • Bring in healthy or sweet treats
  • Decorate the student employee’s workspace

If you participate in National Student Employment Week, we’d love to see it! Please share your pictures or stories celebrating your student employees with travis.kalusa@unlv.edu.
