Previous Surveys
To gain a better understanding of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on employee productivity and well-being, including the differential impacts on those from underrepresented populations (e.g., essential workers, caregivers, and racial/ethnic minorities), the university conducted a campus-wide survey of faculty and staff and held focus groups with campus leaders.
In 2019, the university invited employees across its campuses to participate in the Great Colleges to Work For Survey to solicit feedback on their experience working at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. The survey, completed by 1,369 randomly selected employees, serves as a tool to inform university leadership of areas where 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ has demonstrated strength and where improvements can be made.
The Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) is a consortium of over 200 universities and systems that aim to provide research-based improvements of faculty experiences in recruitment, development, and retention. Housed within the Harvard Graduate School of Education at Harvard University, they provide several services including a Faculty Satisfaction Survey. 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ chose to assess faculty satisfaction through this survey and it was administered at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ in Spring 2016 by COACHE. Since then, a Provost Report, Dean reports, and a Steering Committee have directed 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s steps to address inequities that reach across the entire campus.
The following reports from the 2016 survey are available:
- Full Provost Report
- Overall Grades
- Summary of Results (infographic)
- Global Satisfaction Percentages by Group
A 2018 Update is also available. For a copy of any report, please email the Office of Faculty Affairs and include the name of the report you are requesting.
The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Faculty Senate conducts the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Campus Climate Survey. For more information on the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Campus Climate Survey, please contact faculty.senate@unlv.edu.
