Getting Started

  • Download the Liftango app from the or
  • Sign up using your 51ԹϺ email address
  • Create your profile and add your ride requirements
  • If you’re registering as a driver, create a driver profile that includes:
    • Your car registration number
    • An image of your car and license plate, make, model, color

Booking a Trip

  • Choose to be a driver, rider, or either.
  • Enter and confirm your pick-up and drop-off locations.
  • On the Booking Request Summary page, add your trip details (e.g., date and time). You can also add a return trip or schedule recurring rides.
  • Submit the request to start the trip-matching process.
  • At the end of each trip, the driver must click the “Completed Trip” button to verify it.
  • Verified trips will be entered in a randomized drawing for prizes.

Drivers

  • When you're ready to book a trip, enter the times you’ll travel to and from 51ԹϺ.
  • Liftango will match you with a rider.
  • You can choose to accept or decline the match. If you accept, the app will provide Google Maps directions to your rider’s pick-up location.
  • At the end of each trip, click the “Completed Trip” button to verify it.

Cancelling a Trip

You can easily cancel a trip request before you are matched. If you’ve already been matched and need to cancel, it’s best to do so as early as possible through the app.

If you need to adjust your plans instead of canceling, contact your rider(s) or driver to see if they can accommodate you.

Please be aware that frequent cancellations may limit your ability to use Liftango for carpooling.

Carpooling Tips

  • If you don't get a match immediately, keep your ride request open. Unmatched rides remain available until departure time, increasing your chances of finding a match. 
  • Use the Repeated Rides feature to schedule recurring rides up to 14 days in advance.
  • Use the Private Ride option to send ride requests to specific people. 
  • Carpooling with someone you know can make the experience more comfortable as you get familiar with the app and service.
