Opportunities for Research Experience
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students can apply for research assistant (RA) positions in a psychology lab (explore the labs listed below!). Research assistants are active members of a research team who often work closely with professors, graduate students, and other undergraduates. The specific activities and responsibilities may vary across different labs, and this may include earning authorship on a presentation or publication.
- How do I apply? Please follow the specific instructions posted on a lab website. If specific instructions are not posted, write a brief email to the professor expressing your interest.
- When can I apply? Students can apply at any time, but recommended times are when professors and students are planning for the next semester(s). The end of October is good for the spring semester, and the end of March is good for the summer and fall semesters.
- Can I earn credit? Students are encouraged to sign up for academic credit in PSY 496 (Independent Study) or PSY 498 (Independent Research) – ask the lab professor for more information about this possibility.
- Can I work as an RA remotely / online? RA positions typically involve working in-person on campus – fully remote or online roles are not likely.
