Next Application Deadline

Applications are reviewed monthly. Requests must be within given fiscal year.

Requests must be received at least 10 business days prior to the scheduled event. The committee encourages applications to be submitted 1-2 months in advance to be reviewed in a timely manner. Late Requests

The VPSA Committee only reviews requests on a monthly basis. Requests received after the monthly meeting will be reviewed the following month. Applications are decided on a case by case basis and are contingent upon remaining available resources and funding.

Sponsorship Committee Purpose

The Student Affairs sponsorship committee’s objective is to review all requests received in order to provide funding and promotional items to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ departments/organizations and established community institutions in support of initiatives, programs, and events that will strengthen our community.

Eligibility Requirements

The committee will accept applications from existing and proven successful programs, organizations, institutions, and schools. Consideration is given to event or program attendance and participation, proven benchmarks, years of existence, and the benefit to the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus or community.

Each program will be eligible for funding once per academic year from the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ VPSA Sponsorship Committee.

Funding Requirements

  • Must be a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department, Registered Student Organization, or established community organizations to receive funds.
  • Amount disbursed may be based on the number of applications received.
  • If a sponsored group/program fails to submit a close-out report within 30 days of the completed program or event, they may not be eligible for funding the following academic year.

Criteria/Documentation Required

  • Event / program details (name, date(s), purpose, participant population, etc.)
  • Impact (number of students, campus groups, or community members impacted)
  • Budget (funding requests only)
  • Reference Support Letters (funding requests only)
  • Marketing materials, event agenda, or other documentation (recommended)

Application Process

  1. Submit  with all required information and documentation attached. Refer to required criteria section before submitting.
  2. Student Affairs sponsorship committee will review the application.
  3. The initiator will be notified of committee’s decision.
  4. If approved:
    • The committee will communicate the amount of sponsorship (may differ from amount requested) and the method of disbursement.
    • A  will be required to be submitted to Student Affairs via email (studentaffairs@unlv.edu) within 30 days following the event date or date sponsorship was received, whichever is later.
    • Note: Sponsorship recipients must use funds no later than two (2) months after the event date, unless other arrangements are made, or, before the end of the fiscal year (whichever is sooner).  Otherwise, allocated funds will be rescinded.

Committee Revisions

  • The committee reserves the right to alter and adjust these policies and procedures as deemed necessary.
  • Committee will review the application and supporting materials.
  • If the application is incomplete or needs clarification, the committee will contact the requester.
  • The committee will notify requesters' of the funding amount by email and provide steps on how to obtain the sponsorship funds.
