Michael Frezell
Michael Frezell, '95 BA Communication Studies, was promoted to communications manager for the Michigan Department of Transportation in 2014. He supervises staff, writes press releases, and publishes a weekly legislative newsletter. He also answers media inquiries related to rail, public transit, aeronautics, and other topics. He says he loves his job because it combines his educational background with his passion for transportation. He has been married 12 years. The couple has two dogs and two parrots. He is an avid train enthusiast and president of the Lansing Model Railroad Club, which is working on moving and saving an historic, two-story railroad structure called the Michigan Avenue Tower. Once the tower is moved, the club plans to restore it and use it as a "living history" piece. The couple enjoys traveling around Michigan in their new teardrop travel trailer. They live in Lansing.
Lisa Allen Chastain
Lisa Allen Chastain, '03 BA Communication Studies, is associate advisor for Surevest Wealth Management, an independent registered investment advisor. She holds the FINRA Series 65 and insurance licenses and is a candidate for her certified financial planner (CFP) designation. She advises clients on socially responsible and impactful investing. She volunteers as a Life Coach at Choice Center Leadership University, coaching participants in the areas of accountability, responsibility, team
work, and community service. She also is a volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement, Southern Nevada; works closely with Three Square; and is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners where she serves on the Business Development Committee. In her spare time she coaches and creates unique curated events for local singles with Love Frogkisser. Her hobbies include volunteering, anything vegan, attending music festivals with friends, and spending time with loved ones. She also enjoys attending her son's soccer games.
Tiffannie Bond
Tiffannie Bond, '98 BA Communication Studies, works as the public relations coordinator and company photographer at Imagine Communications. She also is the director of the Winchester Star Catchers Dance Program for Clark County Parks and Recreation.
Melissa Rothermel Biernacinski
Melissa Rothermel Biernacinski, '06 BA Journalism & Media Studies, has been named director of public relations/reputation manager of Henderson-based Imagine Communications. Previously, she served as director of media relations. Her experience includes local and national story pitching and coordination for print, TV, radio, and online; award nominations; crisis communication; press conference coordination; and legislative support. She is also Imagine’s resident editor. She has served as an industry speaker and author and has been honored by local organizations with several awards, including induction in 2014 into the Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Hall of Fame. She and her husband, Marek Biernacinski, '05 BA Communication Studies, live in Henderson.
Natalie Hansen
Natalie Hansen, '11 BA Communication Studies, earned a master's degree in public communication and technology from Colorado State University in 2014. She joined A.wordsmith, a boutique public relations firm as a public relations associate late last year. This spring, she was promoted to social media specialist. In October, she and her fiance, Kevin O'Grady are getting married. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
Beatriz Martinez
Beatriz Martinez, ’15 Master of Public Administration, joined the Clark County Regional Flood Control District in August 2015 as its public information coordinator. Running and volunteering are her hobbies.
