Making 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Accessible to All
The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Disability Resource Center raised $1.9 million in student scholarship assistance to help nearly 3,000 students with disabilities with appropriate advocacy, accommodations, and supportive services. These services ensure access to campus courses and activities and make the dream of higher education accessible to students with disabilities.
Advancing Culturally Relevant STEM Education
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ received a $3 million grant to establish the National Science Foundation National Resource Hub for Culturally Relevant and Responsive STEM Environments at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI). This HSI-Hub will serve as the premier site for sharing resources for faculty professional development and community building, as well as knowledge generation and dissemination by and about HSIs. These efforts will reach STEM faculty across 570 current and 400 emerging HSIs in the United States who want to advance and cultivate culturally-responsive and relevant teaching.
Better Health
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Health opened its second no-cost medical care clinic for students and their siblings in the Clark County School District (CCSD). The clinic, located in the Family Support Center on Maryland Pkwy., is made possible through grants and is staffed by 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Health personnel. By providing accessible and free care, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Health is ensuring that students in the community receive the medical attention they need to thrive academically and personally.
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Partners with Barnes & Noble
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s partnership with the Barnes & Noble College’s First Day inclusive access program removes barriers to higher education by improving affordability of course materials and making them more convenient for students to obtain. The program ensures students have access to their materials before the first day of class, resulting in better student outcomes and savings up to 50%. 531 sections of 60 classes at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ are currently part of this program.

By leveraging a streaming platform, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ is taking its outreach efforts to new levels, inviting viewers across the world to connect with the university like never before.
Lights, Camera, Careers
It's all "Action!" for students in the media production class of the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies. They learn to direct live multicamera productions and immediately get to produce big live-streaming events such as the annual State of the University Address and news programs like . By the time they're through, the students have rotated through directing, producing, reporting, and anchoring and have amassed a career-building portfolio in multimedia storytelling.
The Right Direction
Navigating a university as large and complex as 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ can be challenging. Over the summer, the Planning and Construction team overhauled wayfinding signage to help visitors find their way around our 350-acre main campus. Gone is the mishmash of kiosks and building markers and in their place are cohesively designed and easily updatable signs.
Room to Grow
Kicked off by a $10 million gift from an anonymous donor, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ launched a fundraising effort to expand the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ/CSUN Preschool at the Lynn Bennett Early Childhood Education Center. The expansion will double the preschool’s capacity, helping student-parents, staff, and the surrounding community access affordable childcare.
