For the fifth consecutive year, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's William F. Harrah College of Hospitality was ranked the nation's top institution for hospitality and leisure management. Worldwide, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ ranked second, the only American institution within the top ten in the 2023 QS World Universities rankings. The college also ranked number one in CEO World, highlighting 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's commitment to excellence in educating the hospitality industry's future trailblazers.

This state-of-the-art studio enables the seamless integration of live-action performances and 3D computer graphics in real-time, empowering students to explore groundbreaking techniques that will shape the future of film.

51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Honors College student Zach Billiot is one of just 58 students nationwide to earn the national Truman Scholarship, which recognizes his exceptional leadership potential, academic excellence, and commitment to public service in government or the nonprofit sector.

Notably, this marks the second consecutive year that a student from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ has been awarded the Truman Scholarship, further reflecting 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s Top Tier commitment to support student achievement and promote scholarship and public service.

Two 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students, Vesper Evereux and Faria Tavacoli, have been awarded Barry Goldwater Scholarships, the nation's premier undergraduate award in STEM. Evereux, a mechanical engineering major, and Tavacoli, studying public health, were selected from a competitive pool of nominees nationwide, and exemplify 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's dedication to fostering a future-forward and robust STEM workforce.

Thanks to a Nevada Library Services and Technology Act grant, University Libraries has successfully digitized the Las Vegas Sentinel-Voice, a historic newspaper dedicated to providing news and information to the African American community in Las Vegas. Spanning a publication period from 1964 to 2013, this comprehensive digitization project preserves a valuable resource for researchers, scholars, and the community.

The American Water Works Association named 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ engineering graduate Padmanabhan 'Pad' Krishnaswamy's master's thesis the best in the nation. Krishnaswamy explored the emergence of disinfection byproducts in wastewater, specifically during the pandemic. This groundbreaking research not only raised awareness about byproducts in our wastewater, but also provided valuable insight for water managers across the country.
