Bachelor of Art in Creative Practice

Leadership-Management-Entrepreneurship

Welcome

The BA in Creative Practice is a program for students looking to shape the future of the arts in entrepreneurial and forward-thinking ways as arts leaders. This unique degree is the only one of its kind in the nation to offer a robust and comprehensive education combining leadership, management and entrepreneurship in the arts.

The interdisciplinary focus of this degree is attractive to students who desire to create a program with variety. We work closely with the Lee Business School, providing leading-edge business courses, training our majors to create business plans, small business start-ups and other entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, students select a focused set of courses in one of our renowned arts disciplines with plenty of electives to explore a wide range of creative interests. The Creative Practice degree is also the first completely online degree available for students within the College of Fine Arts, allowing students the flexibility to earn a degree in the arts in ways that work best for their active lives.

U.S. employers rate creativity/innovation among the top skills in hiring candidates. Graduates of our program are sought-after employees for nearly any company or organization wanting a competitive edge. The professional internship requirement of this program provides networking opportunities while allowing for hands-on application of the world-class education students receive.

Whether you desire to be involved in the Arts as a creative leader, manage artistic organizations, work in the creative arm of a business or strike out on your own as an entrepreneur or small business owner, the only limitation is your imagination. With the BA in Creative Practice, the possibilities are endless!

About

This program is designed with a contemporary vision toward redefining how we think about and practice the Creative Arts. Our future arts leaders must be innovative thinkers that are well versed in not only the arts, but also in other areas such as business, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, diversity/equity/inclusion, and global strategy. They must be proactive in the creation of interdisciplinary intersections that are at the forefront of societal change.

Creative individuals (Creatives) approach problem solving with innovative thinking and they display the ability to connect and engage with broad audiences. The BA in Creative Practice will open up a host of new and vital career possibilities for our students. It builds for students a creative and entrepreneurial mindset for careers and occupations of the future.

Creatives who earn the BA in Creative Practice have become sought after as employees for nearly any company or organization seeking a competitive edge.
