Congratulations to Holmes Scholars Mayra Marquez-Mendez and Adjoa Mensah (both Education PhD candidates) on helping to develop, plan, and support the inaugural Science Summer Institute for Elementary and Middle school teachers in CCSD. With more than 100 participants accepted to the institute, this NSF-funded professional learning opportunity supports teachers to engage their students in high-quality science routines while investigating science teacher effectiveness and retention. The Summer Science Institute was possible thanks to professors Tina Vo (Education) and Erica Marti (Engineering) and in partnership with (CCSD).
