Around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, University of Nevada, Las Vegas Police Service say someone assaulted and robbed a student at gunpoint.

A 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ student was struck in the back of the head with a handgun and robbed about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot, according to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Police.

Southern Nevada’s public colleges and universities are on their way toward consolidated police services, after the board of regents approved a memorandum of understanding outlining the process Friday morning.

The Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents said in a statement the police departments at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the College of Southern Nevada would merge to form a single police department.
