Committee on Video Surveillance

About

The Committee on Video Surveillance was established as part of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Audio & Video Recording Policy. The committee's responsibilities include:

  • Review requests to view video surveillance recorded images that do not fall under Police Services jurisdiction as stated in the Video and Audio Recording Policy and make a recommendation to the president to approve or deny the request.
  • Review appeals of requests to view video surveillance recorded images that have been denied by Police Services and make a recommendation to the president to approve or deny the request.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for usage, installation, signage, and maintenance of video surveillance recording equipment.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for requests to view video surveillance recorded images.
  • Establish and maintain procedures regarding video recording equipment which has been identified as in violation of the Video & Audio Recording Policy and/or the usage guidelines.
  • Provide recommendations to the policy owner to improve the effectiveness or clarity of the Video & Audio Recording Policy and other policies that affect the committee’s work.
