Risk Management & Safety takes the management of hazardous wastes on campus very seriously. Those in charge of managing Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs) for waste must be trained under the RCRA Generator procedures. That training is available from the online training section. Those in charge of managing SAAs must also complete monthly inspections under those same rules, and submit them to Risk Management & Safety, so that the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ community can be assured that wastes kept in accumulation areas are being stored safely.
Disposing of Wastes
If you have hazardous waste that needs to be removed from an on-campus location or other 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ property, an is available to request a pickup. When preparing to make a waste pickup request, remember to allow three working days for the disposal to be completed. Ensure that all labeling and marking is properly completed and easily visible, and that the waste is in an accessible location.
